Vermont Ballet Theater is a non-profit organization that
offers accomplished and dedicated young dancers opportunities
to train and perform, bringing a wide range of story ballets
and classical and contemporary choreography to Vermont communities.
VBT’s mission is to provide inspiration through living
art form--
-
to inspire young dancers to train with the focus that
superior accomplishment demands
-
to inspire artistry and collaboration among dancers,
musicians, choreographers, and set and costume designers
-
to inspire audiences to experience the fairytales, the
drama, and the art of dance
-
to inspire communities
Over the past several years, thousands of adults and children
have enjoyed VBT’s performances in Burlington, Barre,
Rutland, Johnson, and Essex. The Company’s repertoire
includes The Nutcracker, Peter and the Wolf, and numerous
classical and contemporary works. Hundreds of Vermont businesses
and individuals have supported the purchase of costumes, creation
of sets, and operations.
Dance is the oldest art form in the history of humankind.
Through strength, grace, balance and expression, dancers bring
to life ancient and modern stories and invoke universal emotion
and wisdom. Vermont Ballet Theater strives to preserve this
tradition for future generations.
VBT now has the extraordinary opportunity
to establish a new center for dance
on the St. Michael’s College campus, adjacent to the
Elley-Long Music Center, home of the Vermont Youth Orchestra. |
